There is a healthy population of bats on Leckhampton Hill, including lesser horseshoe bats, long-eared bats, noctule bats and common pipistrelle.

To help people gain a better understanding of this bat population and its habitat, the Gloucestershire Bat Group has planned a Bat Walk.  This will take place on Friday 13th September, starting at 7pm where we will meet in the car park known as Brownstones, at the very top of Leckhampton Hill.

The walk will be led by experts from the Gloucestershire Bat Group, equipped with bat detection equipment, and it is hoped that bat activity may be seen, and heard, from about 8pm onwards.  It is expected that the walk will end sometime between 9:00 and 9:30.  There is no charge for taking part, but we will be taking a collection at the end of the walk.  It is not necessary to book places.  Just turn up and enjoy the walk!
