Salterley Quarry access improvement

FOLK have been asked to pass on the following message from CBC (the landowners of the hill).

“Salterley Works Update

The previously announced access improvement project at Salterley quarry car park is scheduled to begin in December and is expected to take several weeks to complete.

Works will include construction of the new accessible path linking the quarry floor to the Cotswold Way, improving access for a wider range of visitors. At the same time, drainage improvement works that were originally planned for last winter will also be undertaken to redirect the runoff away from the car park access track and Hartley lane.

Visitors may also notice vegetation management works using a digger taking place around the site, including flailing and scrub clearance around the bottom of Windass Hill, the Gallops and selected patches of gorse. These works form part of the ongoing management of the reserve, helping to maintain access and improve habitat condition.

There may be some temporary disruption while contractors are on site. We thank visitors for their patience and understanding while these improvements are completed.

Many thanks”

The diagram of the access route has been previously published on here and on the Website.

More information on future conservation work on the hill will follow in the coming weeks.
